I've just discovered Mugen.
The huge nerd deep inside of my lesser nerd exterior is crying out of joy.

For those of you who don't know what Mugen is, it's basically a 2D fighter maker. I stumbled upon a youtube video of someone playing some game with about a billion characters to choose from that ranged from Ryu to Homer Simpson. I found out that it was Mugen and decided to investigate what exactly Mugen was.

You can download pre-made characters, so it's time for me to make Marvel vs. Capcom vs. SNK vs. Dragon Ball Z vs. TMNT vs. Mortal Kombat.

This is going to end in disappointment. I just know it. But I'm getting my hopes up anyway and none of you can stop me.

EDIT: No Mortal Kombat. MK characters just look retarded next to a character from just about any other fighting game. Plus they glitch up Mugen.

I got excited about that a while ago. I couldn't find any good characters to download and I wasn't willing to learn how to make my own. One character was a shark that had one move that was just jumping out of the water (if you picked that character it would automatically put water on any stage) and eating the other person. Otherwise you'd be underwater the whole time and couldn't really tell where you were.

I learned about Mugen from videos I saw on youtube of Mario fighting Sonic and shit like that. 90% of the time people have at least 100 characters and everything is inconsistent, like their relative scale and graphic style.

I can live with the graphic styles being inconsistent so long as they aren't too different. Most of my characters are coming from Capcom and SNK games, so they're going to be different, but not so different that it just looks dumb like it was with Mortal Kombat.

As far as scale, that's pretty easy to change, I think.

This is actually working out really well for me.
